In Grottaglie, in southern Italy, ceramics have been part of everyday life for centuries. Among workshops, kilns and clay, a craft passed down from generation to generation continues to thrive today.
At the Bottega Ceramica Fasano Antonio workshop, his brother Ciro has been painting his distinctive ceramics for many years. His work features expressive faces, free forms and spontaneous brushstrokes. He creates vessels with “ears” that aren’t really ears. Each ceramic piece is one of a kind, spontaneous, raw, lively and full of personality.
Sibylle and Martin selected a number of pieces together, right there in Grottaglie. Ceramics whose lightness of expression, individuality and handcrafted presence have now become part of the world of léger.
